Jet's Cure was established to carry on the mission started by Jere "Jet" Landis. His vision was to whatever he could to help children going through cancer treatments. We focus on local children here in the Savannah area, but also work with other organizations that have a broader reach. We strive to achieve these goals in several ways:
Through this website and our facebook page we continuously remind others that we accept donations year round for Jet's Cure. Those donations go towards various events and drives throughout the year, and each event or drive focuses on a different area of support for cancer victims, survivors, and research.
At this time we are presenting a motorcycle poker run on March 31, 2018. This run will benefit Cure Childhood Cancer, which funds research, provides early outreach, an Open Arms meal program for patients and families in treatment centers, counseling services, emergency fund programs, bereavement care, and several other programs. For our part at Jet's Cure, we will be using the poker run funds to purchase toys and other items for the children and families in the Cure program at Memorial Medical Center, with the remainder of the funds used in partnership with Cure Childhood Cancer for other services.
Jet's Cure plans to make an annual event out of the Kickstands Up To Kick Cancer Out poker run. In addition, we are looking into other events, such as a memorial ride in memory of Jere, a soccer tournament, bake sales, car washes, benefit dinners, and others. And we are always open to suggestions for events. It is our goal to be Relentless at finding ways to support children going through their cancer fight and their families.
